CEO Heads to Science Agora to Make the Case For Re-Humanizing

Tokyo, Japan -- Creative Renewal CEO Lara Lee is currently in Tokyo, Japan for the 2019 edition of Science Agora, a conference focused on connecting science and society through multi-stakeholder interaction. The theme of this year’s conference is “Human In The New Age”, and Lara will be engaging with the topic through her presentation “The Future Is Human”.

The premise of Lara’s feature presentation is that in a world increasingly saturated with technology, the key to success - for individuals and for organizations - is to get back to being human. “The ability of humans to see potential, imagine new futures, develop our own capabilities and increase the vitality of the systems in which we operate is unlimited when we use technology to predict failure, optimize execution and accelerate learning. Cultivating our most human capacities for creativity, compassion and critical thinking will be our greatest task, as citizens and as leaders”.

Lara will also deliver a keynote lecture on brand communities and designing growth ecosystems on behalf of the SIGN for Planet Social Innovators Global Network, and engage in a panel discussion on what role humans will play in the future as AI and machine learning are increasingly incorporated into the workplace and daily life.

The abstract of Lara’s feature presentation is below:

“The Future Is Human” As machines become ever more intelligent -- increasingly capable of learning, adapting, even teaching and designing each other – people will face critical choices about the futures we wish to create. Will humans and machines struggle for control, or will we thrive together? In our quest for ever-increasing efficiency and productivity, will people continue conforming our thinking and adapting our behavior based on the operating constraints of our machines? Or, will we adopt a more balanced set of values to guide the ends to which and contexts in which intelligent machines are employed? Now is the time to take responsibility for designing a future in which humans and machines work together to co-create organizations, systems and environments conducive to flourishing life. To do so, our first step must be to re-humanize.
